Welcome to the website of the Texas Advocates
for
Patient Safety (TAPS). Our mission in this website
is to make healthcare safer for Texans. Our hope is
the work in which we engage will also serve the
nation, countrywide.
TAPS focuses on making hospital and physician
practices the trusted servants that patients believe
in and deserve. We accomplish this by working to:
• Improve public access to information about the safety "history
of hospitals and the doctors who work in them.
• Encourage and support legislation that serves to hold hospitals
and physicians accountable for their work.
• Measure, analyze and report on healthcare quality in the state
of Texas.
